Plain language, no surprises. Local-first, no tracking.
These Terms of Service govern your installation, activation, and use of Xaltrion. Xaltrion is a local-first AI-powered trading bot operated by Xaltrion, Izak Laubscher, sole proprietor, in the Republic of South Africa.
By installing, activating, accessing, or using Xaltrion, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
Xaltrion grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Xaltrion on a single machine.
You may use Xaltrion only for personal trading automation and only in compliance with applicable law, broker rules, exchange rules, and market conduct obligations.
You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer Xaltrion as software or as a service.
You may not:
Xaltrion is a tool. It is not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset.
Automated trading involves significant risk, including the risk of loss of capital. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
You are solely responsible for your trading decisions, strategy settings, broker configuration, API key setup, and the consequences of any trade placed manually or automatically through Xaltrion.
When you enable live trading, Xaltrion can place real orders on the broker accounts you connect — automatically and without asking for confirmation on each order — using the limits and settings you configure. You are responsible for setting appropriate position sizes and risk limits, for keeping sufficient funds in your accounts, and for monitoring activity. Crypto-assets in particular can be highly volatile.
Xaltrion is currently in beta and is provided on an “as is” basis (see “Disclaimer of Warranties” below). Features may change and the software should not be relied upon as your sole means of managing capital.
Xaltrion accepts no liability for trading losses, missed opportunities, slippage, failed orders, or any market-related outcome arising from your use of the software.
Always trade only with money you can afford to lose.
You are solely responsible for obtaining, configuring, securing, and using your own API keys and third-party accounts.
You must comply with the terms, policies, and usage limits of every third-party service you connect to Xaltrion, including Alpaca, Luno, VALR, Claude, PayPal, and any other services you choose to use.
Xaltrion is not responsible for third-party outages, API changes, data errors, latency, pricing changes, account restrictions, or provider-side failures.

Subscription fees are non-refundable once billed. The founders plan does not renew automatically.
If you are granted an early-access preview, that preview lasts 90 days unless otherwise stated. After the preview period, continued use requires a paid plan.

Upon termination, you must stop using Xaltrion and uninstall all copies in your possession or control.
Xaltrion, including its software, design, activation system, documentation, branding, and related materials, is proprietary and owned by Xaltrion, Izak Laubscher. All rights are reserved.
Xaltrion is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
Xaltrion disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for trading purposes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Xaltrion shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or trading-related losses.
If Xaltrion is found liable for any claim, the maximum aggregate liability shall not exceed the fees you paid during the 30 days immediately preceding the event.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Xaltrion may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Xaltrion, operated by Izak Laubscher, sole proprietor, provides Xaltrion, a local-first AI-powered trading bot. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices and the limited circumstances in which information leaves your machine.
Xaltrion runs entirely on your local machine. We collect nothing about your trading activity, positions, balances, usage patterns, or local data. Your data does not leave your machine except for licence validation and the third-party services you choose to connect.
Xaltrion does not collect:
When you purchase a licence, we may receive or process your email address (for licence delivery and support) and payment information processed by PayPal. We do not store your full payment card details.
When you activate a licence, we process your licence key and your machine fingerprint — an anonymous hardware hash used to bind the licence to a single machine.
Xaltrion makes only these external connections:
Sends your licence key and machine fingerprint. Used to verify your licence is valid and correctly bound. Occurs on startup and periodically during use.
A standard anonymous HTTP GET request. Used to check whether a software update is available. Can be disabled in Settings.
Only what each data provider API requires. Uses your own accounts and your own API keys.
Market context and prompt content for AI reasoning. Uses your own accounts and your own API keys.
The trade or status notifications you choose to configure. Delivered to Discord, Telegram, or similar endpoints you configure.
All API keys are stored encrypted on your machine. Your API keys are never transmitted to Xaltrion servers and are never intentionally logged.
Licence validation uses HTTPS. Local secrets are stored using local encryption mechanisms, including Windows DPAPI where applicable. You are responsible for securing your device, OS, user account, backups, and broker credentials.
Under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:
Because Xaltrion is local-first, most of your data — API keys, trade journal, and bot state — never leaves your device, so you control it directly and can erase it by removing the app’s local data. For the limited information that does reach us (see “Data We Do Collect”), email support@xaltrion.ai to exercise any of these rights. You can also contact the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Xaltrion integrates with third-party services only at your direction and using your own accounts. Each provider has its own privacy policy. Xaltrion is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services you choose to use.
Xaltrion is not intended for persons under 18 years of age.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notification, the website, or another reasonable notice method. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
